India’s budget smartphone segment is about to get a new challenger — and it’s coming from a brand you already know from your wrist.
Fire-Boltt, one of India’s most recognized smartwatch makers, is reportedly gearing up to launch smartphones in the country. The move marks a bold expansion beyond wearables for a brand that captured nearly 10% of India’s smartwatch market in 2025.
A New Name for a New Category
The smartphones won’t carry the “Fire-Boltt” name. Instead, they’ll be sold under the simplified “Boltt” brand, keeping the “Fire” identity exclusive to its wearable lineup. It’s a clean strategy — one name for your watch, another for your phone.
What to Expect
According to early reports, Boltt plans to launch two or three smartphones right out of the gate. Here’s what we know so far:
- Chipset: All models will run on Unisoc processors
- Pricing: Every phone will be priced under ₹20,000 (~$211)
- Launch Timeline: As early as next month (July 2026)
Why This Could Actually Work
Breaking into India’s fiercely competitive budget phone market is no easy task, but Fire-Boltt has one big advantage — it already has established logistics and distribution networks from its wearables business. That means faster rollout, existing retail relationships, and a recognized brand name among value-conscious buyers.
Whether Boltt can take on heavyweights like Redmi, Realme, and Tecno remains to be seen. But the foundation is there.
Stay tuned — more details are expected soon.
